Good morning! I hoped to finish these yesterday, but got too tired. So, literally just off the needles is my first pair of socks for June completion 🙂. Yarn is Berroco Comfort Sock, pattern is my own 2x2 lacy rib.
I just finished my first pair of socks! I decided to go with a worsted weight wool/nylon blend to learn with. This was much easier than I was anticipating.....so now, on to sock yarn!
This was a bittersweet knit. Adrienne Fong aka bellybuttonknits passed away last September. She left one last beaded sock pattern for Sock Madness. The lace forms an angel that appears to be holding up knitting needles.
I had not heard about her passing. I'm so sad to hear it. Her The Lady of Lorien socks were my first beaded socks and I still wear them. Her designs are gorgeous and you certainly did these Justice. Beautiful.
It's Hikoo CoBaSi. It's actually frogged yarn from my Fairy Dancers socks. They were just too loose. I don't get it with this yarn. I use Hikoo CoBaSi all the time. I use 60 sts with sz. 1 needles and normally, they are snug. The Fairy dancers were loose. I thought it must have something to do with the pattern. I didn't know what, if any, changes I should make when reknitting it. This sock was loose but I thought maybe it was because it was frogged yarn. It is s definite experiment. I washed it last night in warm water, hoping to tighten it up. I haven't tried it on yet. I may be frogging this and using a sz. 0 needle.
You guys, my second pair of socks ever....my second pair this month! These are my very first fingering weight socks. Still need to block them but they just came off the needles tonight and wanted to post! Toe-up two at a time with a slip stitch heel flap. Urth Uneek Sock #57 used.
Around the heel, when I am picking up stitches, I pick up an extra stitch where the hole is (I pick it up in a twisted fashion) and that really helps close up that hole. I can help you with it if you get to that point and want to try it.
