I like the stitch pattern in the leg. Is that a mock cable?

Thanks! Pegg Thomas yes, a mock cable. I like to use a k3, P2 rib. Sl1, K2, PSSO two knit sts. Then next row K1, YO, K1 to add the stitch back in.

They are helical knit, no self striping. The sapphire blue is used throughout and I alternated the light blue and the speckled every 20 rounds. I wish I had pre-planned for the afterthought heel placement so that it was more centered in the stripe, but oh well.

KnitsWithHorses Seriously? It looks like it changes as you go along. Must be how the color changes affect it.

Pegg Thomas That's it exactly. I love when that happens. I wish I could say I was clever enough to realize it ahead of time and plan it that way but I just got lucky. I wanted a bit of texture but I knew that an intricate pattern wouldn't show up with the colors. I almost just did a regular rib but I'm glad I did this instead.

And for color i even got a sunset picture that includes the pink in my yarn even though now that they are knit up you don't really see the pink in the yarn. When it was in the skein it looked like there was way more pink than that. 😁

Don't forget to post a picture of your view if your sock color coordinates with your view. I can't wait to see your view if you have those cheery colors to look at this time of year.

Entry for option #4 - theme color.

Outside my window I see many winter colors. There is the white/gray of the snow and the gray of the sky. The red and blue roofs of my bird feeders. Also, we have lots of dogwood bushes and barberry bushes, which have red stems and red flowers/berries in the winter. My socks exhibit all of these colors.

Finally got my socks done! There is nothing - nothing! - more boring than knitting white stockinette stitch. But I like how they turned out and I think they go with my photo. Pattern is Pine Tree Socks https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...e-tree-socks-4 and not the easiest to read that I've ever used.

These are beautiful!! They'd go so well with a mitts pattern that was given out free during a, what you call it when several yarn shops have an event where you go from one to another, in Seattle a year or so ago!

Not sure what they call it for yarn, but for beer, it's called a "pub crawl."

Around here it is a Yarn Crawl! They are fun. I did one in MAryland a few years ago, and it was so much fun! My DD 2 lives there and the crawl coincided with our last weekend while we were there for granddaughter's birth. I spent 6 weeks helping out -- preemie, sick mom, and baby who only slept while being held!! I ended up shipping about 4 boxes of yarn home
