    Free Crochet Baby Patterns

This thread is for our designers to list their free crochet baby patterns. Please provide a PDF file, or a link to your own website, or your pattern at lovescrafts, etsy, etc where members can find your pattern.

I recommend using the following format:
    • Share a picture – everyone likes to see what it looks like
    • Yarn used in photo and weight of yarn
    • Gauge, hooks
    • Yardage used
    • Link to the website where they can obtain the pattern, if a PDF is not uploaded
    • Other information you would consider important
    • USE TAGS! It may help folks find your patterns easier

I've come to the conclusion that collecting yarn, and using yarn are two entirely separate hobbies.

Thanks for this free pattern 😊. I’m really enjoying making baby blankets these days, and I’ll be trying out your pattern next.

    • This is an intermediate level crochet pattern.
    • Yarn used in the photo is Bernat Softee, which is #3 on the Craft Yarn Council's yarn standard system. Don't worry if you don't care for this colorway; there are ideas posted for several others on the pattern page.
    • Gauge: 4 stitches and 4 rows = 1 inch when crocheting either of the charts using the tapestry crochet technique; I recommend crocheting one entire square to use for checking your gauge.
    • Hook: I / 9 / 5.50 mm crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge
    • Yardage Used: I don't have exact yardage requirements, but you’ll need approximately 19 ounces of DK / light worsted weight baby yarn in a random assortment of colors.
    • I have some free tutorials available for the techniques used in the pattern: There's a free tapestry crochet tutorial; a free surface crochet slip stitch tutorial; and a free tutorial showing you how to join crocheted squares using whip stitch. That said, I wouldn't recommend this as your first tapestry crochet project. A plain checkerboard pattern (try this one!) would give you an easier introduction if you haven't learned how to do tapestry crochet yet.
